Job Summary
The X-ray Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and patient care skills to ensure accurate imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The technologist will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality images that facilitate effective diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray equipment to produce images of various parts of the body as per physician orders.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns.
- Record and maintain patient records and images in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in the training and supervision of new staff or students as required.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent certification.
- Current certification and licensure as a radiologic technologist in the relevant state.
- Strong knowledge of X-ray equipment and imaging techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
