Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the Post-Operative Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will deliver exceptional nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac surgeries. This role demands a commitment to closely monitoring patients’ conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes in a critical care environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for post-operative cardiac patients, focusing on their recovery and wellbeing.
- Continuously assess and monitor patient vital signs and overall health status.
- Administer prescribed medications and interventions as per physician orders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored care plans.
- Educate and support patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in compliance with hospital policies.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to any changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely intervention.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in a cardiac ICU or critical care environment is advantageous.
- Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
