Job Summary
The RN Emergency Room is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in urgent and critical conditions. This role requires the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals with various medical emergencies effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate care to patients with acute and life-threatening conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients’ health needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare personnel to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patients’ responses.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions and post-discharge instructions.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided in the medical record.
- Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the emergency room.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting is advantageous.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
