Job Summary
The PCU/TELE Registered Nurse (RN) position plays a vital role in providing top-notch care to patients requiring telemetery monitoring and progressive care. This role encompasses vital patient assessments, comprehensive care planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ability to swiftly respond to changes in patient condition and prioritize needs is crucial in this setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients in a progressive care unit.
- Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and vital signs, interpreting telemetry data.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and recovery.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care.
- Document patient care activities and progress accurately in medical records.
- Respond to medical emergencies and implement life-saving measures as needed.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a PCU, telemetry, or critical care setting is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple patient needs simultaneously.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
