Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support in the operating room by assisting surgeons and other medical staff throughout surgical procedures. This position ensures the delivery of safe and efficient patient care, contributing to successful surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Function as the first, second, or assisting Surgical Technician during surgical operations.
- Maintain a sterile environment and apply principles of sterile technique at all times.
- Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Provide direct support to the surgical team by anticipating their needs and assisting with procedures as required.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as medical terminology and microbiology.
- Ability to apply sterile techniques and adhere to safety protocols in the surgical environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff.
- Certification or formal training in surgical technology is preferred.
- Previous experience in an operating room setting is advantageous.
