Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering effective patient care. This role involves supporting the rehabilitation process for patients by implementing treatment plans and ensuring a safe and encouraging environment for recovery, as well as monitoring patient progress under the guidance of a physical therapist.
Responsibilities
- Assist in administering therapeutic interventions under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Educate patients about exercises and self-care techniques to improve their recovery outcomes.
- Document patient progress and response to treatments accurately.
- Maintain and organize treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to report patient conditions and any changes observed during therapy sessions.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field.
- Current and valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and the rehabilitation process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and assist in lifting or moving patients.
