Job Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) plays a vital role within a healthcare team, providing support to occupational therapists in the delivery of therapeutic services to patients. This position is focused on enhancing patients’ abilities to perform daily living and work activities through rehabilitative techniques and equipment. OTAs assist in implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and modifying approaches as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in the implementation of treatment plans.
- Help patients with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve daily living skills.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting techniques based on feedback.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment for clients.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding therapeutic activities and equipment use.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and document patient progress accurately.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
