PRN Pharmacist
Broward & Palm Beach, FL
$54-56/HR
The PRN Pharmacist will offer pharmacy support on an as-needed basis across four locations in Broward and Palm Beach, Florida. Key duties will include compounding and dispensing medications, validating prescriptions, maintaining necessary documentation, providing patient counseling, and assisting clinic providers and pharmacy technicians. This role is anticipated to last for at least three months, requiring coverage approximately three to four days a week in September, with continued coverage required thereafter as needed.
Responsibilities of the Pharmacist:
- Deliver pharmacist coverage during staffing shortages, employee absences, or heightened workload across designated pharmacy sites.
- Compound, prepare, dispense, and confirm prescriptions while ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to pharmacy regulations.
- Create and sustain essential records related to prescriptions, patient billing, inventory, and pharmacy operations.
- Educate patients and provide pertinent information to staff regarding medications and pharmaceutical inquiries.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, clinic personnel, and pharmacy technicians to enhance patient care and consumer satisfaction.
- Independently manage moderately complex to complex tasks, using sound judgment to decide on technical solutions and daily priorities.
Qualifications for the Pharmacist:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a valid Florida pharmacist license is required, along with eligibility to engage in Federal prescription programs.
- Candidates should reside locally and be willing to commute between the four locations as necessary.
- The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly productive, and adept at problem-solving in collaboration with others.
- Candidates should demonstrate a passion for enhancing consumer experiences within a progressive organization.
- A minimum of three years of pharmacy experience is preferred, with the capability to lift and move up to 15 lbs.
