Job Summary
The Jr. High Special Education Teacher plays a pivotal role in providing tailored educational support for students with diverse learning needs. This position focuses on adapting instructional methodologies to facilitate learning and promote student success in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s specific needs.
- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate special education students into the mainstream classroom effectively.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and any necessary interventions.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in special education.
- Maintain records and documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching credential with endorsements in special education.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in working with adolescents with varying disabilities is preferred.
