Job Summary
We are in search of a committed Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room (OR) for a contract role with rotating shifts (3 days, 12 hours each) based in Houlton, Maine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing intraoperative surgical care, functioning either as a circulating or scrub nurse to ensure that all surgical procedures are conducted smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care during surgical operations.
- Act as a circulating nurse, managing the surgical environment.
- Serve as a scrub nurse, assisting the surgical team by preparing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Monitor and document patient status before, during, and after surgery.
- Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure optimal care and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license to practice in the state of Maine.
- Previous experience in a surgical or operating room setting is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by the rotating shift schedule.
