Job Summary
The RN Level 4 Labor and Delivery nurse plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients before, during, and after childbirth. This position requires advanced nursing skills and knowledge in maternal and neonatal care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and their newborns.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and their fetal well-being.
- Support and guide patients through the labor and delivery process.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Monitor and document the status of mother and baby throughout the labor process.
- Educate patients and families on pre-and postnatal care and newborn care.
- Respond promptly to complications, implementing appropriate interventions and protocols.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure with a focus on Labor and Delivery.
- Significant experience in maternal and neonatal nursing care.
- Advanced certifications in ACLS and NRP.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergency situations.
