Job Summary
The Adult ED/Trauma Nurse plays a critical role within the emergency department, providing immediate medical care to patients with acute health issues, including trauma. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise, the ability to respond quickly to emergencies, and effective communication skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients swiftly in high-pressure situations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per healthcare protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any significant changes to the medical team.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in trauma resuscitation efforts and organize care effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment consistent with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Experience in emergency or trauma nursing strongly desired.
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced clinical setting.
