Assembler
Location: Avon, OH
Pay: $22/HR
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)

The Assembler is tasked with the precise and efficient assembly and testing of products, ensuring that we meet customer quality standards and delivery timelines. Responsibilities may include lockwiring, first-stage subassembly, and final detailing on standard tasks that require minimal judgment. Additionally, the role involves contributing to lean process improvements aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs. Supervision will be provided directly.

Key Responsibilities of the Assembler:

  • Conduct basic assembly and testing activities utilizing mechanical skills along with hand and power tools, mechanical and electronic tools, testing equipment, assembly fixtures, and measuring instruments within a manufacturing setting.
  • Document test results on data sheets using basic electrical devices and flow meters.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly instructions, testing specifications, and customer requirements alongside quality guidelines.
  • Produce and scrutinize assembled products ensuring compliance with specifications and both customer and industry standards.
  • Carrying out touch-up or complete surface painting of items using finishing substances such as paint, lacquer, and glaze; includes mixing paint and preparing components.
  • Engage in lean initiatives by recognizing opportunities for enhancement and suggesting improvements.
  • Follow safety protocols and sustain a work area free from Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained according to the calibration schedule.
  • May undertake additional related tasks as needed.

Qualifications for the Assembler:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • 0-1 year of general mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to apply product and process knowledge to learn new techniques.
  • Capability to choose suitable procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment for tasks.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending blueprints, route sheets, and specifications for testing.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and demonstrate competent verbal, written, and elementary computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical reasoning skills are essential.
  • Ability to apply and implement lean process improvement techniques effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with specialized software tools for accessing online resources (e.g., Paylocity, IFS, Outlook Email).
  • Ability to effectively show team member competencies and to contribute to goal-setting, performance evaluation, and self-improvement activities.
