The Assistant Cook plays a key role in the preparation of both hot and cold meals for students and faculty within a cafeteria environment. Responsibilities include the safe operation of kitchen equipment and stepping in for the Cook when necessary. To qualify, candidates must possess a valid certificate in Food Service Administration or have one year of paid, full-time experience in large-scale food preparation. Furthermore, potential hires are required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and receive clearance for direct interaction with students.
