Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) role within Adult Psychiatry encompasses delivering essential support to individuals experiencing various behavioral health challenges. This position is pivotal in monitoring patients, helping with daily activities, and promoting a therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of patients in a psychiatric setting.
- Monitor patient behavior and report significant changes to the clinical team.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities and groups to enhance their social skills.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all patients and staff.
- Document patient progress and participate in treatment planning meetings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in mental health or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a behavioral health or clinical setting is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact empathetically with patients.
- Basic understanding of psychiatric disorders and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to manage crises and respond effectively in challenging situations.
