BIM Designer

The role of the BIM Designer involves executing modeling tasks to facilitate project delivery and uphold established standards. As an integral part of the production team, the designer is expected to effectively communicate to ensure accurate and efficient modeling as well as timely deliverables from designated assignments.
Responsibilities of the BIM Designer:
- Input layout and details from the field into Revit with guidance from the Supervisor/Lead Modeler
- Conduct self-reviews to ensure accuracy before sharing work with peers
- Develop project sheets in accordance with project specifications
- Maintain the Revit modeling environment in alignment with company BIM standards
- Track the progress of assigned tasks in line with project guidelines
- Adhere to confidentiality agreements and Non-Disclosure policies relevant to this position
- Safeguard proprietary and company intellectual property

Desired Skills for the BIM Designer:
- Strong self-management capabilities
- Proficiency in Revit, including the creation and manipulation of views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Familiarity with BIM processes, procedures, and standards, including workflow guidelines
- Proficient in reading 2D plans in both digital and physical formats, including one-lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules
- Willingness to learn industry-standard software, such as BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud products, and NavisWorks
- Capability to import various documents like spreadsheets, images, and text files into Revit projects
- Skilled in typing, proofreading, and spell-checking work independently
- Understanding of collaboration within Revit work-sharing environments
- Knowledge of 3D coordination with various trades
- Proficient in computer use and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, adjusting as needed
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt positively to changing demands
- Strong, solution-focused oral and written communication abilities
- Self-driven, proactive, and a competent team player
- Effectively interact with colleagues at all organizational levels, including management and staff
Qualifications for the BIM Designer:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- An associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related field is preferred
- At least 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or Revit is essential
- A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered
