BIM Designer
Nashville, TN

BIM Designer Overview:
The BIM Designer plays a critical role in the modeling efforts necessary for project execution and compliance with standards. As an integral member of the production team, this position requires excellent communication skills to ensure accurate and efficient modeling along with deliverables based on assigned responsibilities.

BIM Designer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Supervisor/Lead Modeler to input layouts and field details into Revit, adhering to REI Standards.
  • Conduct a thorough review of work for precision before submitting it for further processing.
  • Create sheets according to project specifications and REI Standards.
  • Ensure the Revit model environment is maintained according to Company BIM Standards.
  • Document progress on assigned tasks in line with project protocols.
  • Adhere to all REI confidentiality and Non-Disclosure obligations related to this role.
  • Safeguard the company’s proprietary information and intellectual property.

BIM Designer Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in self-management.
  • Skilled in Revit, with capabilities to create and modify views, organize browser structure, sheets, schedules, and filters.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to accurately follow intricate instructions.
  • Proficient in following REI BIM processes and standards, including workflow methodologies.
  • Competent in reading 2D plans, either digitally or on paper, which includes one-line diagrams and schedules.
  • Ability to quickly learn industry-standard software, including but not limited to BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud products, and NavisWorks.
  • Capable of importing various document types into Revit projects, such as spreadsheets and images.
  • Proficient in typing, proofreading, and conducting spell checks independently.
  • Understanding of working within Revit’s collaborative environments.
  • Knowledge of 3D coordination with diverse trades.
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, managing multiple responsibilities and adapting as necessary.
  • Capable of working under pressure and adapting to evolving requirements with a positive outlook.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on solutions in both oral and written formats.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to maintain professional and effective interactions with employees at all levels, including management and staff.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • An associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or utilizing Revit is required.
  • A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
