BIM Designer Overview:
The BIM Designer plays a key role in modeling tasks to ensure project delivery is aligned with established standards. As a vital part of the production team, this position requires strong communication skills to produce precise and effective modeling and related deliverables based on assigned responsibilities.
BIM Designer Responsibilities:
- Produce layouts and incorporate field details into Revit, with guidance from the Supervisor/Lead Modeler, adhering to REI Standards.
- Conduct thorough self-reviews to verify the accuracy of work prior to forwarding it to others.
- Create sheets that comply with project specifications and REI Standards.
- Uphold the Revit model environment in alignment with the Company’s BIM Standards.
- Track and document the progress of assigned tasks in accordance with project guidelines.
- Able to understand and comply with REI’s confidentiality and Non-Disclosure obligations related to this role.
- Safeguard proprietary information and Company Intellectual Property.

BIM Designer Desired Skills:
- Strong self-management abilities.
- Proficient in Revit, with skills in creating and manipulating views, managing browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and more.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with REI BIM procedures, processes, and standards, including workflow methodologies.
- Competence in reading 2D plans, whether digitally or on paper, including one-lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules.
- Aptitude for learning industry-standard software, such as BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud products, and NavisWorks.
- Ability to import various documents (spreadsheets, images, etc.) into Revit projects.
- Capable of typing, proofreading, and spell-checking work without assistance.
- Understanding of the Revit work sharing environment.
- Knowledge of 3D coordination among different trades.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to shifting priorities as needed.
- Work effectively under pressure and adjust to evolving requirements with a positive demeanor.
- Strong, solution-oriented communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels, including management and staff.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or working with Revit is required.
- Qualifications may include a mix of education, training, and relevant experience.
