Job description
Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that align with the company’s operational needs. The role requires working closely with vendors, conducting market research, and negotiating contracts to ensure the best prices and quality for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure favorable contracts.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about trends and pricing changes.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure supply meets demand.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise.
- Utilize procurement software and tools to facilitate the purchasing process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and vendor management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
