Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse plays a crucial role in the surgical team, responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This position demands a high level of clinical expertise, compassion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The CVOR Nurse is integral to ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for cardiovascular surgeries.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition during operations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on pre and post-operative care related to cardiovascular procedures.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Relevant experience in surgical nursing, specifically in a cardiovascular setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
