Job Summary
The role involves overseeing intricate and high-stakes insurance litigation from its initial stages to resolution, encompassing the development of strategy, formulation of settlement proposals, trial preparation, and collaboration with claims leaders, legal teams, and external attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Lead insurance litigation efforts including strategic planning and resolution processes.
- Develop settlement recommendations based on case analyses.
- Prepare for trial, ensuring all necessary documentation and strategies are in place.
- Coordinate activities with claims leadership and legal teams effectively.
- Oversee outside counsel performance and manage legal expenditures.
- Provide guidance on claims management and insurance coverage matters.
- Enhance litigation procedures, identify risk mitigation strategies, and contribute to staff training initiatives.
Qualifications
- A valid Florida Resident Adjuster’s License.
- Juris Doctor degree.
- An active law license.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in insurance claims, litigation oversight, corporate legal environments, or law firms specializing in litigation.
- Experience with complex multi-state insurance exposures and civil litigation.
- Familiarity with managing outside counsel and budget considerations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities.
