Job Summary
The CDI Manager is responsible for leading the Clinical Documentation Improvement program, focusing on the management of staff, training initiatives, and the monitoring of performance levels. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing provider documentation accuracy, securing optimal reimbursement rates, and acting as a mentor for both coding and medical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Clinical Documentation Improvement program.
- Manage and train staff to ensure high performance and compliance.
- Facilitate accurate clinical documentation by healthcare providers.
- Ensure that documentation aligns with coding guidelines and supports optimal reimbursement.
- Act as a mentor and resource for coding and medical staff to enhance their skills.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of coding experience in a hospital setting is essential.
- At least two years of experience in a supervisory role is required.
- A valid Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is mandatory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CPT, DRG, and ICD-10 coding guidelines is necessary.
