Job Summary
The primary role of the pharmacy assistant is to support the pharmacist in various operations within the pharmacy. This includes assisting with the reception of prescriptions, data entry, adjudication, and dispensing medications. The pharmacy assistant plays a vital role in ensuring excellent customer service while also engaging in health and wellness services and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist with the reception of prescriptions and data entry.
- Facilitate the adjudication and dispensing of medications.
- Participate in compounding and post-fill audits to guarantee quality standards.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and support health and wellness initiatives.
- Engage in staff coaching and ensure compliance with safety and privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to manage confidential information effectively.
- Completion of necessary national registration, certification, or licensure is a requirement.
- Possession of a current pharmacy board license is preferred.
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent is advantageous.
