Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in supporting surgical teams during procedures by providing assistance in various tasks and ensuring a sterile environment. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the surgical operating room by ensuring equipment and instruments are set up and sterile.
- Work closely with surgeons and other medical staff during operations to facilitate patient care.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety protocols throughout the surgical process.
- Manage and handle surgical instruments effectively, ensuring their availability when needed.
- Monitor the patient’s condition before, during, and after surgery to provide necessary support.
- Participate in post-operative care and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and cases.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technician from an accredited program.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments and collaborate with medical professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to relay information to the surgical team and other staff.
