Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) specializing in Cardiothoracic Open Heart Surgery plays a crucial role in providing high-quality surgical assistance in the operating room. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive outstanding surgical care during their procedures at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
- Support surgeons during cardiothoracic procedures by providing essential instruments and responding to their needs effectively.
- Participate in the care and documentation of patient information before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment within the operating room.
- Engage in continuous education and training to enhance surgical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
- Prior experience in a surgical environment, particularly in cardiothoracic settings, is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with the surgical team.
- Ability to adhere to strict safety and sanitation protocols.
- Proficiency in handling and using surgical instruments and equipment.
