Job description
Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist is an essential member of the surgical team, responsible for facilitating surgeries by ensuring a sterile environment and the availability of necessary instruments and supplies. This role involves assisting surgeons, nurses, and surgical staff before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout all surgical procedures.
- Assist in setting up and organizing surgical instruments and supplies.
- Provide support to surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments and materials as needed.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during operations.
- Perform thorough cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-operation.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
