Job Summary
The Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the department while guiding the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care. This position is fundamental in ensuring that care practices align with regulatory requirements, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily departmental activities and foster teamwork among healthcare professionals.
- Make staff assignments and create work schedules to optimize patient care delivery.
- Provide mentorship and support to nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and standards within the healthcare setting.
- Lead efforts to improve patient safety and quality of care in the department.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in California.
- Hold certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, EKG, and NIHSS.
- A minimum of two years of experience as an RN in an acute care environment is preferred.
- Previous experience in charge nurse or preceptor roles is advantageous.
