Job Summary
This role involves delivering specialized medical nutrition care to patients by utilizing assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and educational strategies, in accordance with established evidence-based guidelines. The position also entails managing the overall nutritional needs for patients on enteral nutrition and creating thorough care plans tailored to individual patient requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of patients’ nutritional needs and health status.
- Provide accurate diagnoses based on nutritional assessments.
- Implement appropriate nutrition interventions to support patient health.
- Educate patients and their families about nutrition and dietary management.
- Develop and manage comprehensive care plans for patients receiving enteral nutrition.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
- Alabama state licensure to practice as a nutrition professional.
- Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or the ability to obtain this certification within six months of employment.
