Job Summary
The Commercial Truck Driver is responsible for operating heavy trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role involves complying with all relevant safety and transportation regulations while maintaining accurate logs of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain delivery logs and records in line with department regulations.
- Follow routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status.
- Adhere to transportation laws and safety guidelines.
- Handle loading and unloading of cargo as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of highway safety and regulations.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and capability to handle cargo.
