Job Summary
The Computed Tomography Technologist is essential in carrying out computed tomography (CT) examinations and ensures the appropriate application of techniques along with the administration of contrast media. This role involves delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging results while efficiently managing patient flow and the operations of the CT department.
Responsibilities
- Conduct CT examinations independently, adhering to established imaging techniques and protocols.
- Administer contrast media and medications following licensure, certification, and departmental policies.
- Execute venipuncture procedures as necessary for the administration of contrast.
- Oversee daily patient flow and the activities related to the CT scanner to maximize operational efficiency.
- Utilize professional judgment to maintain imaging equipment and address any operational issues.
- Prioritize patient safety, comfort, and excellence in care during all imaging processes.
- Keep precise patient records and documentation aligned with regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel for the best patient care outcomes.
- Engage in performing other imaging procedures as required by departmental needs.
- Be available for on-call duties and cover shifts on weekends, holidays, and overnight as scheduled.
Qualifications
- ARRT CT certification.
- Valid Ohio licensure.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Proven experience in performing CT procedures and administering contrast media.
- Familiarity with CT imaging equipment, patient positioning, and radiation safety protocols.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently in a dynamic healthcare environment.
