Job description
Job Summary
The Construction Estimator plays a vital role in assessing project costs and ensuring the financial viability of construction endeavors. This position involves detailed analysis and the provision of accurate estimates for all facets of construction projects, enabling effective budget management and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimation.
- Evaluate labor, materials, and overhead costs to produce comprehensive estimates.
- Prepare detailed and clear reports for project bids and presentations.
- Monitor project costs throughout construction to ensure budget adherence.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and trends in construction pricing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost forecasting.
- Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
