Job Summary
The Tractor/Trailer Mechanic plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of tractor trailers within our fleet. This position is responsible for diagnosing issues, performing mechanical repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal working condition to guarantee safety and functionality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of tractor trailers to identify mechanical deficiencies.
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance on various systems including brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and rectify issues effectively.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in the system.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role specializing in tractor trailers.
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Relevant certifications in diesel mechanics or related fields are a plus.
