Job Summary
The CVICU Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering specialized care for patients with cardiac and vascular conditions requiring intensive therapeutic intervention. This role involves using advanced nursing skills and knowledge to monitor, assess, and manage critically ill patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-operative cardiac patients.
- Monitor vital signs and patient status, interpreting data to make critical decisions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding care processes and post-discharge preparations.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Certification in critical care nursing (CCRN) is highly desirable.
- Experience in a CVICU or ICU setting preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
