Job Summary
The Dietary Cook plays a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that comply with dietary guidelines and resident preferences. This position is essential in ensuring high standards of food quality and safety while catering to the specific dietary needs of clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes while adhering to the dietary restrictions of residents.
- Plan menus and special dietary meals as requested by residents or healthcare staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to meet sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to ensure meals meet nutritional requirements.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
- Serve meals and interact with residents to enhance their dining experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety regulations.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Culinary certification or relevant qualifications is preferred.
