Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a pivotal role in assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals and enhancing their daily living skills. The DSP works closely with clients to provide support, encouragement, and guidance in various aspects of their lives, promoting independence and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
- Encourage individuals to engage in social and recreational activities to build relationships.
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments and community events.
- Implement individualized care plans and report any changes in clients’ behavior or health.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment for clients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in healthcare or social services is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
