First Cook – Food Services

Pay Rate: $17/hr

Full-Time | 8-hour shifts | Rotating weekends
5am – 1:30pm | 10:30am – 7pm | Swing shift as needed by the department

We invite you to become a vital part of our team as a First Cook, where you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality meals and outstanding service to patients, guests, and staff. You will work under the guidance of the Food Services management team, preparing meals based on specified recipes, production timelines, and food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve food items in accordance with recipes and production standards.
• Ensure food quality, temperatures, and presentation meet established standards.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and food handling protocols.
• Keep a clean and well-organized workspace, including kitchen equipment and service areas.
• Support meal service and room service operations when required.
• Deliver exemplary customer service to patients, customers, and colleagues.
• Complete necessary production documentation, temperature logs, and cleaning tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and execute recipes and production guidelines.
• Basic mathematical skills for recipe conversions.
• Effective communication abilities and capacity to work independently.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and handle time-sensitive tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 350 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, and work in various temperature environments.
