Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in daily activities while promoting independence and overall well-being. The DSP is committed to fostering a safe and nurturing environment that enables individuals to achieve their personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to clients in daily living activities.
- Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Encourage and empower clients to partake in community activities and social engagements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and incidents.
- Collaborate with family members and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
- Adhere to all safety and health protocols while delivering care.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a strong desire to help others.
- Must pass background checks and any required training certifications.
