Job description
Job Summary
The Dispensing Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate preparation and distribution of medications to patients. This role involves ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards and providing valuable consultation to patients regarding proper medication use and potential side effects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Review and verify physician orders for appropriateness and accuracy.
- Provide counseling and education to patients on medication regimens.
- Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and patient interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Monitor patient medication therapies for effectiveness and possible adverse reactions.
- Stay updated on new medications and advancements in the field.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Active pharmacist license in the respective state.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical therapies and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
