Job Summary
The DME Technician plays a vital role in equipping patients with orthopedic braces and devices, ensuring they receive comprehensive guidance on their appropriate use and care. This position encompasses inventory management, verification of patient benefits, and the upkeep of precise documentation in the electronic health record system.
Responsibilities
- Fit patients with orthopedic braces and other medical devices.
- Educate patients on the usage and maintenance of provided equipment.
- Manage and oversee inventory of medical supplies.
- Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility.
- Maintain accurate records within the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or patient care environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication abilities are essential.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds is necessary.
