Job Summary
The EKG Technician plays a vital role in performing electrocardiograms to evaluate heart activity. In this position, you will be responsible for operating EKG equipment to ensure the accurate capture of cardiac rhythms and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver essential patient care. This position requires an interview for selection.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients.
- Prepare patients for EKG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Properly operate EKG machinery and monitor results during the tests.
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Record and document test results accurately for further analysis by medical staff.
- Communicate findings effectively to healthcare providers and assist with follow-up patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited EKG Technician program preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is typically required.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Experience with EKG machines and basic patient care is highly valued.
