Job description
Job Summary
The Emergency Department Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing immediate and high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing medical emergencies. The nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments of patients in emergency situations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with doctors and healthcare team members to create effective treatment plans.
- Monitor and manage patient flow in the emergency department.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
- Keep up to date with emergency protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Previous experience in an emergency or critical care setting is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
