Job Summary
The Emergency Department Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing immediate and high-quality care to patients experiencing medical emergencies. This position requires expertise in assessment, critical thinking, and swift intervention to stabilize patients and manage urgent healthcare needs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments of patients in emergency situations to determine immediate health needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed to facilitate swift patient care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions and post-treatment care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient admissions, assessments, and treatments.
- Participate in emergency response efforts and manage crisis situations with composure.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is beneficial.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make quick, informed decisions.
