Job description
Job Summary
The Endoscopy Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This position involves working closely with the medical team to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process, from pre-operative assessments to post-procedure recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing patients for endoscopic examinations.
- Monitor patient vital signs and health status before, during, and after procedures.
- Administer medications and sedatives as directed by physicians.
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding procedures and recovery.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in endoscopy or surgical nursing preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
