Job Summary
The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting endoscopic procedures by preparing the necessary environment, handling equipment, and prioritizing the safety of patients. This position also includes responsibilities related to the decontamination of surgical instruments and the maintenance of precise departmental documentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare procedure rooms for endoscopic interventions.
- Manage and monitor endoscopic equipment to ensure optimal function.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols during procedures.
- Carry out the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the department.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in the healthcare field.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or sterile processing program is highly preferred.
