Overview for Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with senior technical leaders to facilitate the implementation of both immediate and strategic engineering initiatives. This position is responsible for overseeing daily engineering functions, promoting technical excellence, enhancing team productivity, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. The Engineering Manager will guide diversified engineering teams, guarantee timely and quality project deliveries, and support business growth through technical insights and client engagement.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager

  • Direct and manage engineering teams comprising RF/microwave, electrical, mechanical, software, systems, PCB design, and related engineering support staff.
  • Enhance team effectiveness by establishing objectives, offering mentorship, conducting performance reviews, and aiding in staff development.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, task assignments, and performance evaluations for engineering personnel.
  • Encourage a collaborative, high-performance engineering atmosphere that reflects the company’s values and goals.
  • Assist engineering teams in the formulation, execution, and refinement of engineering methodologies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote enhancements in engineering efficiency, ensuring the delivery of superior solutions on time and within budget constraints.
  • Facilitate technical decision-making, resolve conflicts within the team, and enhance inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Support Project Managers in managing engineering resources, tackling design challenges, and addressing quality issues.
  • Engage with clients to evaluate project viability and clarify engineering requirements for prospective opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain robust client relationships to advance new engineering project initiatives.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including research papers, white papers, application notes, and progress reports.
  • Assist in proposal submissions and bidding activities by providing technical insights, cost projections, and engineering solutions.
  • Lead design assessments and technical workshops.
  • Educate engineers and technical personnel on engineering processes, practices, and industry standards.

Qualifications for Engineering Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering or systems engineering.
  • Proven leadership history in managing or guiding engineering teams.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse engineering groups across hardware, software, and systems development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on technical decision-making.
  • Background in proposal development, technical documentation, and client interaction.
  • Exceptional communication skills paired with proficiency in technical writing.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively lead teams in a dynamic technical setting.
