Equipment Logistics Technician
Cleveland, Ohio
$17-$18 per hour (shift-dependent) The Equipment Logistics Technician plays a crucial role in the effective cleaning, distribution, and upkeep of medical devices and equipment within the facility. This position is essential for supporting patient care by ensuring that critical equipment is readily available across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct targeted rounds in patient care zones to identify, recover, and redistribute medical assets.
- Clean, disinfect, and assess medical equipment including infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, DVT pumps, specialty beds, carts, and other durable medical equipment.
- Transport and return medical equipment as required to assist patient care units.
- Examine and document the state of equipment, escalating any issues or defects as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all activities utilizing an electronic database or tracking system.
- Order, stockpile, and distribute medical supplies to various units and departments.
- Coordinate with clinical personnel to guarantee that equipment availability meets the demands of patient care.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols when handling, cleaning, or moving medical devices.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a hospital, logistics, or medical equipment management setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and task tracking.
- Capability to perform duties while standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to remain mobile and navigate throughout the health system.
- Adept at using computers, cleaning equipment, and other relevant devices.
- Must be able to lift, transport, or move equipment up to 50 lbs and carts/beds over 100 lbs.
- Proficient in inspecting, cleaning, installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment.
- Must be able to differentiate colors for accurate assessment of equipment.
- Effective communicator to relay accurate and timely information.
