Field Service Technician
Allentown, PA
$27.00 To $34.00 Hourly
Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, upkeep, operation, and quality assurance of dispenser equipment, ensuring alignment with customer preferences and corporate safety protocols. This role involves monitoring dispenser equipment to confirm optimal functionality, conducting routine maintenance, and assessing maintenance needs. The technician will also troubleshoot to resolve operational issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar field.
- Strong electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills are necessary; familiarity with AC, DC, and pneumatically operated systems is a plus.
- Proficient in computer usage and possess strong communication abilities.
- Act as a brand representative for the company.
- Preferred certifications include forklift, Manlift with articulating boom, scissor lift, and performing tasks at elevated heights. Certification can be obtained if not currently held.
- Ability to wear fall protection gear for extended periods of two hours.
- This position requires travel to regional customer sites, involving at least 30% driving; occasional overnight trips may be necessary.
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work-related experience.
- Physical requirements include the capacity to frequently lift heavy items (up to 75lbs/34kgs) while installing equipment, climb ladders, and maneuver hoses, airlines, and electrical cables throughout customer facilities. Must be able to drive for prolonged durations and remain out of town until job completion.
- Physical activity expectations:
- Walking/standing: 40-80%
- Sitting: 30-50%
- Lifting (up to 70lbs/31kgs): 30%
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Capability to tow an 18ft open-bed trailer that is properly loaded, secured, and equipped with necessary tanks and tools.
