Financial Analyst
Location: Lisle, IL
Contract Duration: 5 months
Compensation: $45-52/HR
We are seeking a data-oriented Financial Analyst to be part of our Commercial Truck Finance team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between finance and business analysis by designing and managing dashboards that provide leadership with immediate insights into pricing performance, sales volume, market share metrics, and other essential operational indicators, while also facilitating essential finance tasks. The perfect candidate will be adept at extracting and modeling data using SQL, Excel, and Python, transforming it into comprehensible visual reports via platforms like Power BI or Tableau, and employing automation to minimize manual, repetitive reporting tasks. This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive on converting raw financial and operational data into meaningful dashboards and insights that enhance commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:
- Develop, create, and sustain interactive dashboards (using Power BI and/or Tableau) to monitor pricing metrics, sales volumes, and market share to aid in operational and commercial decisions.
- Establish uniform data models and reporting standards to guarantee consistent and verifiable KPI calculations.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to aid in deal evaluations and strategic initiatives.
- Streamline and automate regular financial reporting and reconciliation tasks through SQL, Python, VBA, and Power Query to decrease manual workload and expedite processing times.
- Work closely with business unit leaders to comprehend their reporting requirements and convert them into scalable dashboards and analytical resources.
- Act as a subject matter expert on best practices in BI/reporting, providing guidance to colleagues on dashboard development and data governance when required.
Requirements for the Financial Analyst Position:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, business intelligence/reporting, or a similar analytical role (relevant internships will be considered for candidates at the early stages of their careers).
- Proven experience in creating dashboards or reports that inform business decision-making.
- Proficiency with Power BI and/or Tableau for the design of data visualizations and dashboards.
- Strong SQL capabilities for data querying, joining, and reconciling information from various systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and macros/VBA.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy.
