Job Summary
The primary role involves evaluating patients’ financial situations along with their insurance options, clarifying any financial responsibilities, and assisting those who qualify in securing aid programs, charity services, or other payment solutions. This position also includes working closely with hospital staff and external partners to ensure accurate financial screenings and admissions.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ financial conditions and insurance benefits.
- Clarify financial responsibilities to patients.
- Assist eligible patients in obtaining access to assistance programs and alternative payment methods.
- Coordinate financial screening and admissions with medical teams and outside providers.
- Document financial assessments and ensure compliance with reimbursement standards.
- Contribute to enhancing counseling practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare-related role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- Experience with insurance eligibility systems and payer regulations is desirable.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding is advantageous.
