Job Summary
The Food Service Director is responsible for managing the dining operations within a long-term care facility. This role focuses on maintaining exceptional food quality, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall functioning of the dining department, ensuring nutritious and appetizing meal options for residents.
- Ensure that food safety standards are consistently met and maintained throughout all food preparation processes.
- Manage inventory to guarantee an adequate supply of food and related products.
- Lead and direct the food service team, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
- Maintain precise operational records to track performance and compliance metrics.
Qualifications
- An associate degree or higher in food service management or hospitality is required.
- At least two years of experience in food production and supervisory roles is essential.
- Preferred candidates will hold professional certifications such as Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
- Candidates must obtain specific food safety certifications shortly after their hiring.
